The Process
Custom made pair of earrings for LAANE's 2023 Women for a New Los Angeles: Rooted in Legacy Luncheon, an event that celebrates women’s leadership.
Each color is mixed until the perfect color is achieved and then mixed with translucent clay and conditioned using my Lucy Clay Machine. Acrylic paint and tiny specks of fine gold foil are then added to the polymer clay and compressed into a cane. To create the slab from which the earring shapes are cut out from, we slice up the cane, and organize our sliced pieces into one large slab. Shapes are then cut out from the flattened slabs using my collection of shape cutters and then carefully pierced with a needle.
