The Process
The clay is con·tin·u·ous·ly kneaded and put through my Lucy Clay pasta machine. Once the slab is conditioned, a thin 4” x 3” snake skin silk screen is laid over the base. A dash of black paint is added to the border of the silk screen print and is then gently spread throughout the slab using a squidgy. Once the paint dries, the silk screen print is removed, and the shapes are cut out.
Once baked, each piece is sanded, sealed, hand drilled, assembled, photographed and packaged by me. To learn more about the making of each product, please visit my instagram page: @virauful.
